Welcome to The Business Tree
Business mentor:
JENNIFER STRACHAN
"In growing my own business for the last ten years I have achieved the stability and success in the marketplace that I only dreamed of. The journey has been challenging, and is far from over. However, this has taught me a great deal on running a business from nothing, to where it is today. It has defined my purpose and given me a passion that keeps me smiling. I have a deep understanding of the difficulties Entrepreneurs face every day. I would love to bring all of this experience and knowledge to you, and to help you on your journey from the tiniest seed of potential to finally a tree full grown and producing fruit. Wont you let me mentor you on this exciting path?" ~Jen Strachan.

"Mentoring is a process for the informal transmission of knowledge, social capital and the psychosocial support perceived by the recipient as relevant to work, career, or professional development; mentoring entails informal communication, usually face-to-face and during a sustained period of time, between a person who is perceived to have greater relevant knowledge, wisdom, or experience (the mentor) and a person who is perceived to have less (the protégé)".

Focus groups are held monthly. Candidates are chosen to interact and discuss the current monthly topic. This facilitates great progress tracking for the business owner. Difficulties in marketplace and advice on business matters can be discussed thereby bringing encouragement to all the candidates. By sharing personal experiences the candidates are more likely to find real time answers to difficulties faced. The open and free discussions typically generate ideas and can provide a wealth of information for the business owner.

The one on one is held weekly. When time allows this can be a face to face encounter or follow up via email, or even Skype call. The one on one is imperative for the Mentor to grasp the needs of the business owner and to put forward the monthly topic relative to the business that the owner has. Lasting an hour or two these meetings are designed to microscopically study the workings of the business and to assist the business owner with the relative tools in which to grow and produce sustainable fruit.
